Cut this for a buddy of mine. I didn’t have the fonts, so I used a similar font for the center words, and created the letters for the outer words. Artwork and G-Code created with Vectric VCarve Pro 5.5. CNC control by Mach3. Did some tuning-up, especially on the X axis. This involved mainly re-aligning the bearing blocks on the drive side, and to a lesser degree reworking the pulley/idler assembly at the stepper. The bearings went on the larger idler, and I had to find a way to take up the slack. I also added another idler to keep the belts separated. I believe they’d occasionally vibrate and mesh, which would cause the stepper to stall. With these improvements I have achieved stable rapids of over 338IPM on the x axis (getting oer 400 is no problem on the y). I seem to get smoother cuts on arcs and circles. My next project will be to swap the Lovejoy couplers out for anti-backlash couplers, or maybe even spiders with a harder compound.
